About Me

IMG_1477.jpg

I describe myself as a spunky, compassionate, and trustworthy therapist. I challenge lovingly and respectfully. My clients appreciate that I bring my authentic Self to sessions through humor, creativity, and my ability to make genuine connections.

Personally, I love being creative through doodling, taking photos, and cooking. All of the artwork on my website is my own, except for the flower on the home page - that beauty was created by my mother.

Additionally, I love to explore the city of Milwaukee with my family. This city has incredible beauty, from the people to the lake and the exquisite food scene.

Who I See

The people I help tend to have tried other forms of therapy but still feel that something is missing. They often have parts of themselves that feel conflicted- one part wants them to make a change and other parts keep them stuck.

They may have a loud internal critic that shames them. They may overindulge or numb out frequently. They may feel helpless at times and struggle not to give up.

Many of my clients struggle to connect to their emotions. Some may be very comfortable being angry but don’t know how to show love. Others may not be comfortable being assertive and want to strengthen their voice.

I have been a therapist for over 15 years. Over these years, I have worked in a variety of settings including men’s homeless shelters, a clinic for people living with HIV, addiction treatment centers, and outpatient settings.

Testimonials

"I have been a client of Hilary’s for the past 6 ½ years. During my time working with her, I’ve grown to really understand my parts, where they stem from and why they play the role they play. She has provided me with guidance that has allowed me to grow and develop not only professionally, but personally. I am able to process/handle situations differently with the tools she has shown me. I often receive comments about how I handle situations and those closest to me have seen the growth. My confidence level has grown, I’ve learned to love myself, my parts, and my past. She truly has been a valuable role in a lot that I have achieved. I am extremely grateful to her and look forward to continuing on the path that I am on." - AR
